What is the CTSASA South African Grand?
It is Five Days of Friendship, Family, and Fierce Competition:Â A Celebration of the CTSASA South African Grand Magnificence and History!
There are few experiences as thrilling, heartwarming, and unifying as participating in a five-day series of clay target shooting competitions that bring together the very best of South Africa—and beyond.
The CTSASA South African Grand, this year to be hosted at the superb Maccauw Clay Target Club near Bloemfontein, will be more than just a tournament; it will be a celebration of community, excellence, and shared passion, as well as nostalgia and history.
This year, 2026, the CTSASA South African Grand will return to the roots of this series of championships at Maccauw Clay Target Club, where it began with three disciplines of ATA Trap, ATA Handicap and ATA Trap Doubles in 2000 as a stand-alone event.
From 2005, the CTSASA South African National ATA Trap and CTSASA South African National DTL Trap Championships were included at the first CTSASA South African Grand where the series of events was held at Maccauw Clay Target Club.
From the year 2006, the CTSASA South African Grand rotated around the provinces, with Valley Gun Club hosting the next South African Grand. From 2013, the South African Grand expanded to include the disciplines of NSSA Skeet and FITASC Universal Trench.
At a later stage, the CTSASA expanded yet again and include ATA Trap Doubles and NSSA Skeet Doubles as South African National Championships, bring the total to six South African National Championships plus the historic and traditional Mackintosh Championship.
Come and join us at this amazing and spectacular Clay Target Shooting festival where enjoyment meets excitement and fun!
