About Our Association

GOVERNING BODY

The Clay Target Shooting Association of South Africa (CTSASA) is the governing body for the sport of Clay Target Shooting in South Africa. The CTSASA manages twelve Clay Target Shooting disciplines, which includes international disciplines that are shot at continental and world championship levels. This includes the Olympic disciplines of Trap and Skeet. Our sport is for both social and competitive Clay Target Shooters at all skill levels!

ACCREDITED SPORTS SHOOTING ORGANISATION

The CTSASA is registered with the South African Police Service and our FAR/Certificate number is 1300022. We are accredited and approved to provide our members with Dedicated Membership Certificates which support firearms licence applications for both Dedicated Sports Shooting and Dedicated Hunter.

CTSASA South African National Olympic Championships 2026

This event is a CTSASA South African National Championship which is shot over 2 days – 125 targets plus an Olympic format final

CTSASA Central Gauteng English Sporting and Trap1 Championships 2026

Date: 2026-06-27

Location: Near Bapsfontein, Pretoria, Gauteng

English Sporting provincial championships are shot over 200 targets. FITASC Trap1 is shot over 100 targets.

CTSASA Mpumalanga Standard Championships 2026

Date: 2026-06-20

Location: Near Malelane

This is a CTSASA Provincial Championship – all championships are shot over 100 targets Please note we are shooting on Saturday and Sunday only Please also note that we are unable to offer ATA Trap Doubles CATERING AND ENTERTAINMENT Catering Friday : please bring your own cooler box, braai packs available to purchase Catering Saturday/Sunday : full catering and refreshments available Food, snacks, and drinks will be available. Saturday night we will have special dinner “braai” for those who which to stay and kuier. CTSASA South African Grand 2026

Location: Maccauw Clay Target Club, Bloemfontein

6 CTSASA South African National Championships in five days! ATA Trap, ATA Trap Doubles NSSA Skeet, NSSA Skeet Doubles Universal Trench DTL Trap PLUS!! Mackintosh Championship (please note this counts as an SA DTL score!) – please see new rules for Mackintosh Team Selection Choose your days to shoot your South African National Championship – the first 2 scores shot will be for your SA Champs and any subsequent scores will be for national trial only. Please note! You may only shoot 100 targets per discipline per day. You can shoot multiple disciplines in one day e.g. 100 ATA Trap and 100 ATA Trap Doubles, but not 200 ATA Trap.
